About Waiolena Beach Park on Hilo & East Island, Hawaii
Waiolena Beach Park is a small grass park on the shore east of Hilo. It has a picturesque swimming area surrounded by palm trees and three covered picnic areas that have excellent views out to the ocean.
Portable toilets might be provided in the parking lot, but if not, just walk east along the street toward Wai’uli Beach Park. There you’ll find a restroom building and showers.
The parking lot for Waiolena Beach Park is just off Kalanianaole Street near Koloa Street and has room for about 15 cars plus a few spaces on the shoulder of the road. If the lot is full, try Waiuli as that parking lot is about twice the size.
