About Dig Me Beach on Kona & West Island, Hawaii
Dig Me Beach is a small patch of sand below concrete walls along the waterfront in Kailua-Kona. It’s a simple beach that’s great for swimming and snorkeling in the calmest part of Kailua Bay.
You can look down on Dig Me Beach from the intersection of Palani Road and Kaahumanu Place. That intersection is where Ali’i Drive starts.
Kailua Pier is next to Dig Me Beach on one side. That’s where you’ll find a concrete stairway that gets you down to the water. On the other side of the pier you’ll find King Kam Beach and the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
Rentals for snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding and more can be found at King Kam Beach or in shops along Alii Drive walking distance from Dig Me Beach. Directly across Kaahumanu Place is a large ABC Store where you can get things you need and snacks too. Restrooms can be found on the pier.
The snorkeling at Dig Me can include large schools of fish. As you swim around, stay away from the large boats and their lanes.
