About Keokea Beach Park on Kohala & North Island, Hawaii

Keokea Beach Park is a picturesque little park about one mile from Highway 270 at the north end of the Big Island. Most folks drive right by Keokea on the way to Pololu Valley Lookout and don’t stop.

There is no sandy beach at the park, but it has a protected tidepooling area for kids if the waves aren’t breaking too hard. It also has an elevated covered picnic area with stunning views of Keokea Bay.

Picnic tables, barbecues and mowed lawns are provided if you want to cook or bring a meal to the park. Restrooms are located behind the uphill pavilion at the back of the park.

Park hours are 7am to 11pm. Alcoholic drinks are allowed 10am to 10pm.
