Kona Inn Shopping Village Seawall

Kona Inn Shopping Village is one of the most visited places on the Kailua-Kona waterfront. It’s filled with over 50 different shops and restaurants and spans two city blocks on Ali’i Drive between Hualalai Road and Sarona Road. It should be on everyone’s To Do List for a visit to the Kona side of the Big Island.

The seawall at Kona Inn Shopping Village is a popular place to sit and relax in the shadow of tall palm trees. After getting a coffee, snack, or take-out meal nearby this is an ideal spot enjoy them and take in the views of Kailua Bay and the waterfront. From the seawall you can see into tidepools just a few feet down. It’s a delightful place to be when the sun is going down too.

To find this park-like setting, just walk through the Kona Inn Shopping Village toward to ocean. The entrance is near the middle of the mall and next to the Kona Coffee Café & Espresso Bar. An ADA accessible ramp leads into this grass park and over to a paved walkway behind the seawall.

The hours of individual shops vary, but the mall itself is open daily from early morning until 9pm. Parking can be found along Ali’i Drive and in lots on both sides of Hualalai Road next to the Kona Farmers Market.
